## Operation Steps

### View Event History

**Navigation**: Console > ApsaraDB RDS > Instances > Event History

**Prerequisites**:
- An ApsaraDB RDS instance must be created and active
- User must have permissions to view instance details and logs

1. Navigate to the ApsaraDB RDS console  
   - Element: **ApsaraDB RDS** (link) — located in the left navigation panel  
   - Notes: This opens the main RDS dashboard

2. Click on the Instances tab  
   - Element: **Instances** (tab) — located in the top navigation bar  
   - Notes: Displays the list of all RDS instances in the selected region

3. Select a specific database instance from the list  
   - Element: **Instance ID or Instance Name** (link) — located in the main content area  
   - Notes: Clicking this link opens the detail page for the selected instance

4. Click on the Event History tab  
   - Element: **Event History** (tab) — located on the instance detail page  
   - Notes: A new section loads showing a chronological table of recorded events including resource type, event type, event name, run at, user type, cause, user information, and parameters

## FAQ

Q: Where can I find the event history for my RDS instance?  
A: After selecting your instance from the Instances list, click the **Event History** tab on the instance detail page.

Q: What types of events are recorded in the event history?  
A: The event history includes operational and maintenance (O&M) events related to instance management, such as configuration changes, scaling operations, backups, restarts, and system-initiated actions.

Q: How long are events retained in the history?  
A: Events are retained for up to 90 days. Retention duration may vary slightly based on region and instance type.

Q: Do I need special permissions to view event history?  
A: Yes, your account must have sufficient permissions to view instance details and logs. Typically, this requires at least read access to the RDS instance.

Q: Can I export or download the event history?  
A: The console does not provide a direct export button in the documented workflow. However, you may use the API or contact support for bulk event data retrieval.
